The Greatest Trick Ever Played

Dear Liberty;

It has been said that the most effective thing that Satan ever did was to convince the world that he didn’t exist. This “trick” is effective because when people stop believing in him, they stop believing in his evil influence as well…they ultimately begin to believe that bad things just happen; that there is really no evil and any such talk is little more than the ravings of religious conspiracy theorists. This is all part of Satan’s plan…to have the people of the world let down their guard and then slip silently into their collective consciousness to subjugate and destroy the souls of all mankind.

So exists the illusion that tyranny doesn’t exist…the illusion that tyranny is reserved for other nations far removed from us…that we are somehow immune to such things as oppression because we are the United States of America and we have a Constitution that protects us from such frightful things.

I listened with great concern when I heard Piers Morgan literally ridicule a guest on his show for stating that our second amendment was established as a means to protect ourselves against tyranny…I watched in awe as he attempted to discredit this guest by asking him questions like “do you know how ridiculous you sound?” and I watched in horror as I heard Mr. Morgan allude to the fact that the possibility of tyranny did not exist for the United States…that people who believed that tyranny is a possibility were nothing more that conspiracy theorists and fools.

Well I guess our forefathers were nothing more than conspiracy theorists and fools; because Mr. Morgan, that is the exact reason why they wrote the second amendment into our Bill of Rights…and to scoff at such absolute fact sir, exposes your ignorance of our Constitution and in my opinion discredits your credentials as an effective journalist. While tyranny might not now exist in the ranks of our federal government, our forefathers had enough insight and experience to anticipate the possibility of such a situation in the future. In their wisdom and foresight, they wrote in a stop gap measure just in case it decided to try and “creep in”.

Dearest Liberty, I find it more than ironic that the body that our second amendment was established to protect us from is that very same body that is trying to limit our access to the rights that that amendment guarantees…hmmm…the image of the fox guarding the hen house comes to mind; especially when I hear our federal government saying things like “this is for your own good” and “we will make America a safer place”. A safer place for what Mr. Obama?! A safer place for whom?! You must be more specific sir because I believe you are only speaking about half of what you are thinking.

Thomas Jefferson once said, ““I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” Mr. Morgan, I believe this statement was made to warn us about people like you.

Liberty, can you help me clear something up for those who do not already know this: The federal government does not give the American people their rights…it is the American people who give the federal government IT’S rights. This is a Constitutional fact, not an opinion. So when the federal government attempts to take away ANY right and exercises unwarranted control over the American people it should be a red flag to us that there is something amiss…that there is something very wrong happening in Washington DC…that there exists, the very possibility of….dare I say it?….tyranny?

    I agree with you Mr. McKee. There is something very wrong in our government. I did not see Mr. Morgan’s show that night, but for God’s sake, he is not even an American (To the best of my Knowledge). Who is he to pick apart our constitution or our rights. Tyranny could be right around the corner if we as American’s don’t start getting rid of these government officials that have been in office way to long, with their high salary’s and life time free medical benefits. As for Mr. Morgan, if you don’t care for the way our constitution is written, I suggest you leave and go back to your country of origin.

    Carla;

    You are so right on ridding this republic of stale Representatives and Senators. That is exactly why I support term limits… 3 terms for a Representative and 2 terms for a Senator, then it’s time to step aside and give someone else a turn. The good thing is that we don’t need to amend our Constitution to impose term limits…we can impose them in the voting booths and there isn’t a darn thing that they can do about it. I’m not saying that they can’t run again either; just take a term or two off and run again. I just believe that it is important for them to realize that they are only temporary employees and not salaried career executives.

    As for Piers Morgan, I do not believe that he has acquired citizenship in these Unites States. I do find the majority of his viewpoints offensive, however, and believe that his contempt for this country and our Constitution are more than obvious. My suggestion would be for him to take a step back and be grateful for the very system that has made him a rich man instead of going out of his way to burn it down. The hypocrisy is that he is just another one of the top income earners that gripe about the top income earners yet enjoys a lifestyle that he desperately wants to prevent others from achieving. Typical of his type…by type I mean Progressive Elitist.

    The 1930s were a time when the US was asleep at the switch, too, and by the time we realized what was happening, it was almost too late to save our country. Let’s not make the same mistake again. Somehow we have to awake the sleeping giant one more time. Doug, thanks for your patriotism and extraordinary work in rallying the folks to combat the political correctness and apathy that, if left unchecked, will be our downfall.

    Thanks for your comments Bob!

    You’re right about the slumber party in the 30′ s but what was even more of a narcoleptic moment in our history was in 1912 and 1913. While the American People slept, Woodrow Wilson and his Progressives crammed the 16th and 17th amendments down our throats. The 17th being the gateway to destroying state rights. With the 17th amendment, every single state in the union lost its representation at the federal level and it won’t be straightened out until we repeal it. The repeal of the 17th amendment will restore states rights and I will debate ANYONE who believes to the contrary. This is not opinion this is a Constitutional fact and it is the only way we can stop run away presidents like Barack Obama.

    I am also in agreement with you on the Political Correctness issue. Political Correctness is not intended to instill politeness into our conversations; it is designed to censor our morality and stifle our opinions. While bigotry and racism should never be tolerated, people should be allowed to voice their opinions without being browbeaten or belittled. This is something that we need to overcome as a nation or good people will continue to be afraid to step forward and try to make a difference.
